Underwater imaging, photography or videography, is an important tool to record and document the underwater world. Not only for scientific purpose in marine conservation or archaeology, but also as art form or just for the pleasure of remembering your dives and the beautifully bizarre and colourful objects that you find.

Wellington Underwater Club is running photo competitions in several categories every year.

What we've been up to...

Autumn... Err... Winter Photo Competition

So we completely forgot to advertise our Autumn competition on the FB page and no one entered, so the competition was extended

Our Autumn/Winter competition theme, chosen by Erin Hewetson, was Meet the Locals with results and the winning photo's published on the club FB page on the 10th of August.

Judges were Lizi Edmonds & Mike Wilson from Nelson.

Congratulations to Brian Barrett (photo - Humpback whale) who wins a cylinder fill at a Wellington dive shop of his choice!
Second place: Alison Grant (photo - Octopus)
